Time flies faster than a bird.  It is April already.  Color is returning to the landscape.

Communication

 
This is a detail of my latest collage titled "Communication".  It is 24" x 28" which is larger than most of my work.  I am currently obsessed with power lines, telephone lines and clothes lines.  They are like visible connections to each other.  There is something nostalgic about them and I like the patterns that they make against the sky.  We have so many ways to communicate now but I am not sure we have gotten any better at it.  TGIF!

Hope is the Thing with Wings

I have a lot of hope for the new year and I will be posting more (I hope!).

Pretty

Here is the other side of the "Wish" spread (below).  My mom used to throw us great birthday parties and everyone would wear dresses and play games. 

The text reads "A new dress will not make you happy.  Pretty things do not make people happy.  When we are kind to others, we are happy.  But money and pretty dresses do not make us happy".  Something I need to be reminded of these days.  I used a postcard of one of my older collages called "Pretty in Pink".  The scalloped edge has glittery pink dots.  It came from a birthday card from my dad.

10 Years

We celebrated our 10 year anniversary in Vermont.  It was cool, green and beautiful.  This vase is from a great fleamarket.  It is metal and the perfect shade of green.

Wish

This is a new journal page.  I am working on better documenting things going on in my life.
